Trends and Patterns in The Inflow of Foreign Direct Investment in India

The study examines the significance of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the development process of India and focuses on understanding trends and patterns of FDI inflows of India across various sectors. FDI plays a significant role and acts as a development tool which is not only a source of fund but it stimulates the developing country economy, boost employment, develops the human capital resources, transfer of technology, improves infrastructure. To forecast the trends of FDI inflows Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) is used for the period of 2019-20 to 2023-24. The study concluded that FDI which is a development tool of India should be allowed in greater percentage for the betterment of the Indian economy for which the Government should focus on the various challenges relating to the inflow of FDI to various sectors.
